  1. First of all, you have to be sure that your partner knows what taking part in a BDSM play exactly means and that they understand their role. A key to every successful relationship is good communication. Therefore, talk to your partner – a lot! They should know that they can trust you and that you won’t do anything they don’t want. Make a plan and establish ground rules. This doesn’t mean that you have to tell them every detail, just to introduce them to the basics. One more thing, it’s absolutely necessary to tell them to choose a safe word so that they would know that they can end the game whenever they want. Furthermore, be patient, explain everything, and take baby steps. It might also be a good idea to try something softer and simpler in the beginning and then introduce new elements later on.

  2. You’re obviously a Dom, so I recommend checking out Dandi Dewey’s books. They opened my eyes!

  3. Be gentle the first time. Afterward, well… a bit of rough play can’t hurt.

  4. Try to explain what’s going to happen before you start anything. If you see even a glimpse of hesitation, give it up! From my experience – a newbie will always be a newbie and you’ll get bored of him/her very quickly.
